We care for your safety

Please take note of the latest safety measures which we have recently implemented for the mutual protection of all our guests and employees.

Our newly developed hygiene concept has been based on the guidelines given by the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) and in close cooperation with an experienced epidemiologist.  This concept has been communicated to all our employees and respective training sessions have been conducted.

We provide protective masks and on request for our guests. Disinfectant dispensers are available in our public areas.

To ensure your well-being, we have also set up and implemented the following guidelines: 

Restaurants

 We kindly ask all visitors of our restaurants to take note that...

  • ... at least one person of each group of more than 4 people must register with their name and address upon arrival for contact tracing purposes.

  • ... you are asked to wait at the respective floor markings in front of the hostess tables until you can be seated. 

  • ... all tables are arranged at 2.00 m distances from the surrounding tables.

  • ... card payment is the preferred payment method.

  • ... we cannot provide valet parking service to external guests. 

  • ... we must ask you to refrain from your visit in case of acute symptoms indicating respiratory disease.

 

Hotel

We kindly ask our hotel guests to take note that...

  • ... upon arrival, you must state whether you have had any symptoms of illness within the last 48 hours.

  • ... at check-in, a barrier has been installed at the front office/concierge desk ensuring that you and our staff are not facing each other directly.

  • ... when arriving or departing with your private car, the car keys will be accepted or returned on a silver tray and the key will be disinfected in both cases. 

  • ... during the transfer of the car or the luggage delivery /pick-up service our employees are required to wear plastic gloves. 

  • ... should you be present in the room when your luggage is being delivered/picked-up, our employees are obliged to wear a protective mask and to maintain a distance of 2.00 m between you and themselves.

  • ... we will try having your room cleaned in your absence; however, should you wish to be present during the housekeeping service, our staff is obliged to wear a protective mask and to maintain a distance of 2.00 m between you and themselves.

  • ... card payment at check-out is the preferred payment method.

  • ... we must ask you to refrain from your stay in case of acute symptoms indicating respiratory disease.

 

Banquet Venues

We kindly ask our guests that attend an event to take note that...

  • ... our spaces are equipped with hygiene stations

  • ... all spaces and facilities are cleaned and disinfected regularly

  • ... distance markers are set up in any banquet spaces as required

  • ... a limited number of persons is allowed on coffee breaks at a time, coffee is served rather than self-service

  • ... a virtual tour of our banquet spaces is possible

  • ... separate rooms for coffee breaks maybe arranged upon availability

  • ... latest conference facilities are available

 

Fitness Club 

We kindly ask our hotel guests to take note that...

  • … you must register at reception before using the fitness area.

  • ... you must constantly keep a safe distance of 2.00 m between you and the other fitness club users.

  • ... you are required to disinfect the training equipment after each exercise.

  • ... you must follow the general hygiene guidelines of the Baur au Lac Fitness Club.

NEW CANCELLATION CONDITIONS

All bookings made directly with the hotel (online and via phone) with the stay dates between April 1, and June 30, 2020 can be cancelled free of charge until 24 hours prior arrival.

PERSONAL MESSAGE TO OUR GUESTS

Dear guests,

In the 176 years since it was founded, the Baur au Lac has experienced many wonderful periods and unique historical events. It has also dealt with the challenges that have arisen during that time.

The events happening at present are new for all of us, and that means we must all do what we can to act sensibly and responsibly. The coronavirus (COVID-19) is changing society in ways we have never seen before. As a result, the Pavillon restaurant, Le Hall and Baur's Brasserie & Bar at Baur au Lac will remain closed until further notice. We are doing everything we can to provide our guests with our undivided attention, so they may continue to enjoy a pleasant stay even in this difficult period.

We are confident that the measures taken by the Swiss authorities will adequately contain the spread of the coronavirus, with the result that we can all return to our normal daily lives in due course.
